CORTLAND, N.Y. - The 2018 NCAA Indoor track and Field championships have come to a close and there were some considerable performances from those representing the schools in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC). Brockport, Cortland, and Geneseo all finished in the top 50 for team scores for the men's competition and for the women, Geneseo and Plattsburgh placed in the top 50.
For the men, Brockport pole vaulter Kyle Cohen placed ninth with a jump of 4.85 meters. Buffalo State sprinter Cody Sikora finished twelfth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.73 seconds. Cortland's Dev Williams placed 14th in the long jump with a jump of 6.44 meters. Fellow Red Dragons Dawan Jones and Storm Malone earned All-American honors from a seventh place finish in the triple jump for Jones at 14.64 meters and a fifth place finish from Malone in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.18 seconds. Geneseo's distance medley team of Luke Holtzman, Zach Hannahoe, Gillan Faulkner, and Isaac Garcia-Cassani took home first place as they earned All-American honors for their high finish, with a time of 9:56.63. Isaac Garcia-Cassani also earned All-American honors in the 3000 meters placing second in the event, with a time of 8:18.19. Oneonta's Matthew Neubauer placed eleventh in the long jump with a best jump of 6.68 meters. Fellow Knight Tyler O'Bryant earned All-American honors by placing fourth in the 60 meter dash with a time of 6.84 seconds.
For the women, Brockport's Victoire Kothor won the shot put with a best throw of 15.35 meters, earning All-American honors with the top finish. Kothor also placed third in the weight throw with a best throw of 17.76 meters, also earning All-American honors in the event. Two Golden Eagles jumpers placed in the top 20 in the long jump. Lisa Huynh placed 17th with a best jump of 5.20 meters and Chanyce Powell finished fifth, earning All-American honors with a best jump of 5.63 meters. Powell also placed 14th in the triple jump with a best jump of 11.39 meters. Fredonia's Mikayla Capestrani placed eleventh in the pole vault, with a best jump of 3.70 meters. Also in the pole vault, Geneseo's Laura Piazza placed twelfth with a jump of 3.60 meters. Fellow Knights jumper Camille Wutz placed fourth in the long jump, earning All-American honors with a best jump of 5.67 meters. Geneseo's Kristen Homeyer placed tenth in the 5000 meters with a time of 17:13.75. Another Knight, Erin MacDougall finished third in the 60 meter hurdles, earning All-American honors with a time of 8.89 seconds. In the 4x400 meters, Geneseo's team of Erin MacDougall, Lauren Bamford, Shayna Held, and Camille Wutz placed sisxth, earning All-American honors with a time of 3:53.12. For Plattsburgh, Elisabeth Plympton earned All-American honors by placing eighth in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.77 seconds.
