Grunder earns PrestoSports Men's Basketball honors

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selected Cortland's Austin Grunder (Trumansburg, N.Y.) as the PrestoSports Men's Basketball honoree for his performances during December 23-January 5.

Grunder averaged 22.7 points and 15 rebounds per game in three Cortland victories over the past two weeks. He scored 26 points on 11-of-16 shooting and grabbed 12 rebounds in a 98-73 win vs. Pitt Bradford and had 25 points (9-for-15 shooting) and 10 rebounds against St. John Fisher as the Red Dragons won Fisher's Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Tournament. Grunder also recorded 17 points and a career-high 23 rebounds, three shy of tying the school single-game record, in a 102-62 win over visiting Cabrini on Jan. 4 as Cortland scored 100 points in back-to-back games for just the second time in school history and first since the 1963-64 season. Over the three games he shot 57 percent from the floor (27-for-47).
