Buffalo State's Pavone and Queen chosen as SUNYAC Men's Soccer Athletes of the Week

CORTLAND, N.Y. – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected two Buffalo State Bengals as this week's Men's Soccer Athletes of the Week. Luke Pavone has been chosen as the Offensive Athlete of the Week, and Andreas Queen has been selected as the Defensive Athlete of the Week. Both athletes are receiving this award for the second time this season as the pair helped lead the Bengals to an undefeated week including a 1-0 upset over sixth ranked Cortland.

Pavone had five points over the week for the Bengals, the Churchville, NY native scored both goals in their 2-1 victory against Grove City, scored the game winner on a penalty kick in the game against Oswego and assisted on the lone goal in a 1-0 upset over nationally ranked Cortland.

In 270 minutes played this week, Queen posted a 0.67 goals against average and a .818 save percentage. His biggest feat came when he blanked the Red Dragons with three big saves in the 1-0 upset shutout.  

At 3-0-2, Buffalo State has yet to take a loss in conference play and are heaving a great season so far being 10-1-2. The Bengals will hit the road this weekend for more SUNYAC conference play when they take on Plattsburgh and Potsdam.
