CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selects Theo Pencic (Oslo, Norway) from Buffalo State and Brian Terra (Bay Shore, N.Y.) from Oswego as this week's PrestoSports Men's Soccer Athlete's of the Week. Pencic is being awarded the Offensive Athlete of the Week, Terra earns this week's Defensive Athelete of the Week.
Pencic tallied four goals and two assists in two more wins for the Bengals who have started the season 6-0 for the first time since 1983. The sophomore tallied three goals and two assists in a 9-0 trouncing of Morrisville State on Wednesday and then netted his Division III leading 10th goal of the season in a 4-0 win over St. John Fisher on Saturday. Pencic participated in six of the teams 13 goals this week.
Terra was a strong force in net this week leading the Lakers to two victories. On Wednesday versus SUNY Poly, Terra led the Lakers to a 5-0 victory recording two saves on the day and recording his second shutout of the season. On Saturday as the Lakers faced off against RIT, the Junior recorded two crucial saves, finishing with four on the day, to force an overtime and record the 2-1 win. Terra produced a save percentage of .857 on the week.
