CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selects Witman Hernandez (Huntington, N.Y.) and Patrick Feeley (Harrriman, N.Y.) as this week's PrestoSports Men's Soccer Athletes of the Week. Hernandez will take home Offensive Athlete of the Week, Feeley earns himself Defensive Athlete of the Week.
Hernandez led Oneonta to a pair of wins this past weekend and, with it, the regular season crown in the SUNYAC. He tallied four goals and three assists including both game-winners against Potsdam and Plattsburgh. In the clinching game for the top seed versus Plattsburgh, he scored twice and assisted on the third goal. In the process of leading Oneonta on Saturday, Hernandez broke the career points record for men's soccer. Hernandez currently leads all of men's soccer including Division I with his 50 points. He is only the second man to reach 20 goals and 50 points in a single season for the Red Dragons.
Junior goalkeeper Patrick Feeley played to a 1-1-0 record on the week with seven saves, a 1.50 goals against average and a .700 save percentage as Plattsburgh State men's soccer secured a second-place finish in the State SUNYAC regular-season standings. Feeley began the week by earning his third shut-out victory of the season in Plattsburgh State's 2-0 win at New Paltz on Friday. He then made three saves in the Cardinals' match at No. 10 Oneonta on Saturday.
