CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected its top Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week. The winners were selected from top nominations made by conference members.
Sarah Brown from Brockport is this week's Defensive Player of the Week. Brown led the Golden Eagles to a 2-0 record in net this past week. She posted a 54.5 save percentage and a 5.00 goals against average in wins against Buffalo State and Potsdam this week.
Teresa Shattuck from Oswego is this week's Offensive Athlete of the week. Teresa has racked up 11 points in Oswego's two contests against ranked opponents this week. First, Shattuck's game-high five points led the Lakers to an 11-9 upset of Geneseo. The SUNYAC assists-leader dished out three assists and scored two crucial goals in the victory. Shattuck followed up with another impressive performance in Oswego's game against Cortland. With a hat trick, Shattuck notched three goals and three assists for a game-high six points. The junior took advantage of her free position opportunities, going a perfect 2-for-2. On the week, Shattuck also won five draw controls.
