Fifteen Players Selected to ABCA All-Region Squad; Four Tabbed Gold Glove Recipients
Fifteen SUNYAC baseball players have been named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Teams and four received the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award. Three of the five first team pitchers were SUNYAC student-athletes including Cortland’s Ray Angelucci and Aaron Schuldt and Brockport sophomore Justin McCarthy. Junior shortstop John Adornetto joined the trio on first team with all-region honors for the second straight year.

Angelucci is currently 11-1 with a 1.28 ERA in 12 appearances. In 77 and a third innings he has allowed only 43 hits and 22 walks with 66 strikeouts. He has thrown four complete games including one solo shutout. Angelucci is only the third pitcher in Cortland school history to win at least 10 games in a season.
Schuldt is 8-1 with a 1.43 ERA in 12 starts and has given up only 58 hits and 25 walks with a team-high 91 strikeouts in 81 and a third innings. Schuldt has combined for four shutouts, limiting opponents to a .201 average.
McCarthy was one of the top closers in all of Division III baseball over the season, posting 10 saves, tied for second in the nation. The sophomore also had a 2-2 record and a team-best 1.20 ERA while appearing in a team-high 18 games.
Adornetto's batting .362 with nine doubles, two triples and 27 RBI in 45 games this spring. He has drawn a team-best 32 walks and has a team-best .495 on-base percentage. He's also made only seven errors at shortstop in 189 total chances for a .963 fielding percentage.
