Nine Cortland Red Dragons Named USILA All-Americans

Nine members of the Cortland men's lacrosse team have been recognized as 2026 Division III All-Americans by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA). The nine USILA All-Americans are the most in a single year in Cortland program history.
Sophomore defender James Sullivan (Rockville Centre/South Side) was honored on the third team, while eight Red Dragons – junior attack Sean Kavanagh (North Canton, OH/Hoover), senior attack Nick Stoecker (East Setauket/Ward Melville), sophomore offensive midfielder Eli Volk (Alamo, CA/San Ramon Valley), sophomore short-stick defensive midfielder Conor Cosgrove (Warwick/Don Bosco Prep, NJ), senior defender Dino Bowen (Yorktown), senior long-stick midfielder Tucker Macknik (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker), junior goalkeeper Charlie Falowski (Redding, CT/Joel Barlow), and junior faceoff specialist Nicky Miltenberger (Ridge/Longwood) - were honorable mentions.
Sullivan earns the first All-America honor of his career in just his second season for the Red Dragons. The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Defensive Player of the Year, Sullivan started all 21 games during the season, helping lead the Red Dragons to the 10th-best scoring defense in the country at only 7.71 goals allowed per game. He scooped up 52 ground balls and had 23 caused turnovers, including at least one ground ball in all but two contests, and also added one goal and two assists.
Kavanagh repeats as an All-American, after earning the honor last season as an offensive midfielder. He was chosen as the SUNYAC Offensive Player of the Year, providing 98 points on 47 goals and 51 assists over 18 games played, while adding 23 ground balls and nine caused turnovers. He finished with a point in every game he played in, with three points or more in 16-of-18 contests, and his 5.44 points per game ranked 15th in the country.
Stoecker is an All-American for the first time after a senior season that saw him rank second on the team with 96 points, scoring 61 goals and adding 35 assists across 20 games, while contibuting 35 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. He registered multiple points in 18-of-20 contests, and finished with at least four points in 15 games.
Volk also earns his first All-America certificate. The sophomore was fourth on the team in goals and points, recording 29 goals, seven assists, and 36 points, while providing 13 ground balls and one caused turnover. Volk had a goal in 15-of-21 games, and had a career-high six goals in a win over NCAA qualifier Scranton.
Cosgrove played in 20 games during the season on the way to his first All-America honor. He provided 52 ground balls, eight caused turnovers, and chipped in four points on two goals and two assists. Cosgrove picked up at least one ground ball in 19-of-20 games and was part of the Cortland team that ranked third in the nation in total ground balls.
Bowen repeats as an honorable mention All-American in his senior year. Playing in and starting 20 games during the season, he provided 41 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers, while also playing a key role in the 10th-best scoring defense in the country for the year, including helping Cortland hold opponents to 10 goals or fewer in all but four games.
Macknik is also a repeat honorable mention All-American. He played in 20 games and recorded 80 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers, while registering two goals. He picked up at least one ground ball in every game, and was vital to Cortland's success in gaining possession on faceoffs, helping the Red Dragons rank 14th in the country in faceoff winning percentage.
Falowski started all 21 games in goal for the Red Dragons, also earning his first All-America honor. He posted a 15-6 overall record, a save percentage of 55.6%, and a goals-against average of 8.29. His goals-against average ranked 11th in the nation, and he made 10 saves or more in seven contests.
Miltenberger earns his first All-America award after leading the Red Dragons at the faceoff dot. He recorded a faceoff winning percentage of .705 for the season, winning 210-of-298 attempts, and was 12th in the country in faceoff winning percentage. He also scooped up 96 ground balls to lead the team, had two caused turnovers, and finished with eight points on five goals and three assists for the year.
Cortland finished the season with a 15-6 overall record, claiming both the SUNYAC regular-season and tournament titles for the second year in a row. The Red Dragons earned a 21-5 home win over Western New England in the first round of the NCAA Div. III playoffs, before falling at Bates in the second round to finish in a tie for 17th nationally.
In addition to the USILA awards, Kavanagh and Miltenberger were selected as honorable mention All-Americans by USA Lacrosse Magazine last week. USA LACROSSE MAGAZINE RELEASE
