Emma Madigan Named 2024 SUNYAC Women's Tennis Scholar Athlete of the Year
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Cortland's Emma Madigan is the 2024 SUNYAC Women's Tennis Scholar Athlete of the Year as nominated and voted on by the conference sports information directors.
In 2024, Madigan was named to the second team All-SUNYAC in singles. She posted a 12-1 overall singles record (7-0 SUNYAC), primarily on the fifth flight, and was 10-3 in doubles action (7-0 SUNYAC), primarily at third doubles.
Madigan was awarded the 2024 SUNYAC Elite 20 Award with the highest GPA at the championship site. She was also a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District member. Madigan is a junior psychology major with a 3.98 overall GPA.
In order to be eligible for the SUNYAC Scholar Athlete of the Year award student-athletes must prove both academic and athletic excellence by obtaining a minimum 3.30 overall GPA, be a starter or significant reserve for their team, and be at least a sophomore. The SUNYAC Scholar Athlete Award began in 2016-17.
