Ritchie Hired to Lead Cross Country Programs
OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Athletics Department has hired Sarah Ritchie to head its men's and women's cross country programs. Ritchie will also aid track and field head coach Derek Rousseau with those teams' distance events.

A Hilton, N.Y. native, Ritchie comes to the Lakers from Brockport, where she spent three years on the coaching staff after a successful collegiate career for the Golden Eagles. After graduating from Brockport, Ritchie joined the cross country and track and field staffs as an assistant coach. She spent two years as an assistant for cross country before taking the program over in 2014. Ritchie remained on the track and field staff, helping the men's outdoor squad capture the 2015 SUNYAC Championship.

In all, Ritchie coached athletes to the breaking of nine school records, five individuals to SUNYAC Championship crowns, three student-athletes to All-Region recognition and one individual to multiple All-America honors.

A three-time team captain for the Golden Eagles, Ritchie also spent a year assisting the track and field teams at Hilton High School while she attended Brockport.

Ritchie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Brockport and is currently working on her Master of Science degree in athletic administration at her alma mater.
