SUNYAC Honors 2026 Men's Swimming & Diving Award Winners
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC recognizes its 2026 Men's Swimmer of the Year, Diver of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Swimming Coaching Staff of the Year and Diving Coach of the Year honorees as nominated and voted on by the conference coaches.
Men's Swimmer of the Year - Isaac Stoeckle, Penn State Behrend
Stoeckle had a breakout season, winning both the 50 yard freestyle and the 100 yard backstroke at the SUNYAC championships. His 100 yard backstroke broke the team, meet, and conference records and earned him a spot at the NCAA championship meet. He also placed third in the 200 yard backstroke at the league championship and was a crucial member of four winning relays to help his team win the SUNYAC championship crown. Stoeckle advanced to the NCAA championships where he competed in the 50 yard freestyle (48th), 100 yard freestyle (38th) and 100 yard backstroke (21st).
Men's Diver of the Year - Conor Compton, Alfred State
Compton was a double SUNYAC champion winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter at the league meet. He was named the 2026 SUNYAC Diver of the Meet and the James Fulton Award winner for his performances. Compton went on to finished first at the NCAA Regionals on the 1-meter and second on the 3-meter board. Compton was the runner up at the NCAA Division III championship meet in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives.
Men's Rookie of the Year - James DuTremble, Cortland
In his first year competing for the Cortland Red Dragons DuTremble was the SUNYAC champion in the 500 yard freestyle. He also finished second in the 1650 and the 200 freesyle to help his team finish second overall at the league meet.
Swimming Coaching Staff of the Year – Cortland
Head coach Brian Tobin is assisted by Beth Tomlinson, Alex Zelinski, mason Rowlands, Tom Eickelberg and Ryan Hagadorn. The staff led the team to a second place finish at the SUNYAC championship meet. Cortland had nine All-Conference athletes this season, some winning more than one event.
Diving Coach of the Year – Nick Beach, Alfred State
Beach coached his lone athlete, Conor Compton, to finish second in both boards at the NCAA Division III championships. Prior to the national meet, Compton won the 1-meter and 3-meter boards at the SUNYAC meet. At the regionals he was first on the 1-meter and second on the 3-meter dive. Beach was also named the SUNYAC Diving Coach of the Meet.
