Four New Athletes of the Week
The SUNYAC has named the swimming and diving athletes of the week for the week ending Nov. 6.
MEN’S SWIMMING – Geneseo
John Nasky (Rochester, NY/Brighton), freshman
First year John Nasky set a Steele Hall pool record in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 16:52.12 in helping visiting Geneseo to a 195-99 win over Fredonia on Saturday. His closest competitor was 32 seconds behind. The old record was set last year by Fredonia’s Mike Mitchell in 17:13.25.
MEN’S DIVING – Fredonia
Ryan Fuller (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott), junior
Fredonia State springboard diver Ryan Fuller was a double individual winner Saturday in the Blue Devils' 195-99 home loss to Geneseo at the Steele Hall Natatorium. Fuller scored 259.05 points off the 3-meter board to lead a 1-2-3 finish by the Blue Devils. Fuller also won the 1-meter event with 244.65 points.

WOMEN’S SWIMMING – New Paltz
Christine Rieth (Penfield, NY/Webster Schroeder), senior
Christine Rieth won all four individual events in which she was entered over the week and added three relay victories, leading the Hawks to a 2-0 week with wins over SUNY Oneonta and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. In a road meet against SUNY Oneonta on Friday, she set pool records in the 50 and 100 freestyle events, clocking respective times of 24.79 and 54.11, and also swam the anchor leg on the pool-record-setting 400 medley relay (4:11.59). On Saturday against Coast Guard, she doubled up the field in the 50 and 100 freestyle events once again, posting times of 24.62 and 53.32, respectively. Beyond her individual performances, she participated on the event-winning 200 medley relay as the freestyle leg and reeled in Coast Guard's anchor swimmer in the 400 freestyle relay to give the Hawks the first-place finish. The 200 medley relay checked in at 1:53.05, while the 400 freestyle relay charted a 3:45.00. New Paltz entered the 400 freestyle relay as exhibition.

WOMEN’S DIVING – Cortland
Sara Wynne (Wantagh, NY/Wantagh), senior
Senior Sara Wynne posted two top-three finishes in Cortland's season-opening 177-123 dual-meet loss at Ithaca College on Saturday. Wynne finished second in 3-meter diving (227.20 pts.) just 12 points out of first place. She placed third in 1-meter diving (199.15 pts.).
