NCAA Division III Basketball Tournament Action Returns to Plattsburgh on Friday
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State men's basketball team received a double dose of great news on Monday afternoon when the Cardinals learned they would be one of the 62 teams that comprise the field of the 2013-14 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament. Not only did they make the field, the Cardinals - and Plattsburgh State as an institution - will be serving as hosts for three other teams that will play their first and second round games in Memorial Hall.
Plattsburgh State will welcome the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Husson University and Eastern Connecticut State University to Memorial Hall this weekend to play for the right to be one of the final 16 teams remaining after the weekend concludes.
NCAA Tournament action will get underway in Memorial Hall at 5:30 p.m. on Friday when Husson and Eastern Connecticut square off in first of two first round games. At 7:30 p.m. the Cardinals will tangle with MIT in the other first round bout.
The winners of each first round game will advance to the round of 32 tilt on Saturday night at 7 p.m. in Memorial Hall.
Tickets for Friday's games will go on sale Wednesday, March 5 at the Angell College Center and continue through halftime of the Plattsburgh State/MIT clash. Tickets may also be purchased in the lobby of Memorial Hall beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday.
Tickets for Saturday's championship game will go on sale in the lobby of Memorial Hall at 5 p.m.
