Lexi Quagliana Named 2026 SUNYAC Softball Scholar Athlete of the Year
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC is honored to recognize Lexi Quagliana from Buffalo State as the 2026 Softball Scholar Athlete of the Year. This award is nominated and voted on by the conference sports information directors.
Quagliana, a junior third baseman, started all 41 games for the Bengals in 2026. She hit a team-high .395 with 10 doubles, three triples, 30 RBI, 10-10 on stolen base attempts. She was named First Team All-SUNYAC and Third Team NFCA All-Region.
Quagliana is a mathematics education major holding a 3.91 overall GPA. She was named to the SUNYAC Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll the last two years.
In order to be eligible for the SUNYAC Scholar Athlete of the Year award student-athletes must prove both academic and athletic excellence by obtaining a minimum 3.30 overall GPA, be a starter or significant reserve for their team, and be at least a sophomore. The SUNYAC Scholar Athlete Award began in 2016-17.
