SUNYAC Swimming and Diving Championships Day 2
RESULTS
BUFFALO, N.Y. - At the completion of day two of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Swimming and Diving Championships the Geneseo men and the Geneseo women lead with 323 and 305 team points respectively.
Cortland's Miranda Fergus captured the SUNYAC title in the 1-meter dive with a school-record performance and an NCAA Division III B standard cut score. This is her first league crown with an 11-dive score of 475.40 points. Her preliminary score of 481.75 points broke her own school record. Fergus was named SUNYAC Diver of the Week four times this season.
Conference records were broken in four events Thursday night with three of the four making NCCA Division III B standard times.
On the men's side, Geneseo's Kristian Tialios swam the 200 individual medley in an NCAA qualifying time of 1:52.41 breaking the conference and meet record of 1:53.02 set by Kenny Athans (Genseo) in 2015. Buffalo State's Connor Mergler broken the 50 freestyle conference and meet record with a time of 20.38. The 400 medley team of Kristian Tialios, Troy Miller, Yonghoon Jun and Jeff Doser from Geneseo finished in 3:23.40 to break last year's record of 3:23.82 set by Cortland.
For the women, Geneseo's 200 freestyle relay team of Julie Holloway, Kala Wilkins, Leeza Seelbach and Kaitlin Doherty broke the SUNYAC meet record which was made by the Knights last year (Holloway, Seelbach, Wilkins, Abagail Max).
