Romito Tabbed SUNYAC Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC has selected Geneseo's Lauren Romito as this week's Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week.
Romito led the Knights to a pair of non-conference victories, averaging 17.0 points and 16.0 rebounds per game while shooting 15-for-24 (.625) from the floor in the two games combined. Against Medaille on Wednesday, Romito scored 17 points with 13 rebounds and added a block and an assist as the Knights defeated the Mavericks, 56-43. At William Smith on Saturday, Romito earned her third-straight double-double with 17 points and 19 rebounds with two blocks and a steal to lead the Knights past the Herons, 56-39. She leads the conference in shooting percentage (59.3%), fifth in points per game (14.3) and second in rebounds per game (11.0).
