Cortland and Oneonta Take 2025 SUNYAC Men's Wrestling Championship Title

CORTLAND, N.Y. - Cortland and Oneonta tied for first place at the 2025 SUNYAC men's wrestling championship Saturday at Lusk Field House on the campus of Cortland. Brockport was third with 134 points.

Outstanding Wrestler of the Meet

Cortland junior Angelo Centrone was named the Outstanding Wrestler of the Meet after finishing first at 149 pounds. He went 5-0, starting with a pin and three technical falls. In the final, he defeated Oneonta's Avery Leonard, 8-5, with a takedown 48 seconds into the first sudden-victory overtime period. Centrone is 22-0 this season with four pins and 16 technical falls.

Elite 20

The SUNYAC Elite 20, an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers.

With a 3.94 cumulative GPA, Brockport's Max Morrison and Oneonta's Gabriel Camillieri are the 2025 Men's Wrestling Co-Elite 20 winners. Morrison is a junior nursing major and Camillieri is sophomore majoring in business administration.
