Centrone and Maby Take SUNYAC Men's Wrestling Weekly Awards
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC honors Cortland's Angelo Centrone and Oneonta's Jackson Maby as the Men's Wrestler and Rookie of the Week respectively.
Centrone was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler at the SUNYAC Championship after winning the 149-pound title with a 5-0 record. He pinned his first opponent, won his next three matches by technical fall, and finished with a win in the finals after a takedown in the first sudden-victory overtime period. Centrone helped Cortland tie for the team title, giving the Red Dragons their second straight SUNYAC first-place finish.
Maby is the Men's Wresling Rookie of the Week for the sixth time after he picked up a pair of wins at the SUNYAC Championships. He started the tournament with a 10-4 decision win over St. John Fisher's Luke Yorke, then posted a 15-0 tech fall against Utica's James Post.
