Cortland Tops 2026 SUNYAC Baseball Preseason Poll
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC releases its 2026 baseball preseason poll with Cortland voted No. 1 followed by Oswego and Oneonta. The poll is voted on by the seven league coaches.
Cortland finished the 2025 regular season No. 1 in the conference to host the SUNYAC championship double elimination tournament. The Red Dragons went on to win their 37th overall SUNYAC baseball crown. Cortland went 2-2 in the NCAA Division III Regional series and ended their season 31-13 overall.
Oneonta was ranked fourth at the completion of the 2025 conference regular season, 9-9. The Red Dragons advanced to game 6 of the SUNYAC tournament ending its post season run 2-2. Oneonta finshed the season with a 25-17-1 overall record. The team will look to capture its seventh overall conference trophy in 2026.
In 2025, Oswego was the third seed after SUNYAC regular season play and went 1-2 in the double elimination conference tournament. The team ended last season with a 28-15 overall record. This season, the Lakers will compete to win their 16th overall league title and first since 2019.
2026 regular season conference games will start March 20. The SUNYAC baseball semifinals best of 3 series will take place May 1-3 at the top two highest seeds. Then the best of 3 championship series will be at the highest remaining seed May 8-10.
