Morrisville Sweeps SUNYAC Field Hockey Weekly Awards
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Morrisville teammates Iyla Lilleby and Kylee Noyes are the SUNYAC Field Hockey Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week respectively.
Lilleby led Morrisville to a 2-0 week behind her seven goals and two assists to total 16 points in two non-league matches. She began the week with a single game record for the Mustangs, netting five scores and assisting another for 11 points against Southern Virginia. On Saturday, the freshman collected two more goals, adding an assist to her week's total. Saturday's second score came in the overtime period with one second remaining on the clock to topple Manhattanville 5-4. Lilleby averaged 3.50 goals per game on the week, alongside an assist, for an average of 8.0 points per game.
Noyes led the defensive effort for the Mustangs in a 2-0 week as they defeated Southern Virginia (SVU) and Manhattanville. In the shutout win over SVU, Noyes and the Morrisville defense allowed just two shots on goal. She also had one goal and had three assists on penalty corners. In the 5-4 overtime win against Manhattanville on Saturday, Noyes scored two goals from the center back position.
