Oswego men's basketball to face Calvin in NCAA Tournament

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's basketball team has drawn a First Round matchup of the NCAA Division III Championship with Calvin College. Oswego is part of the Augustana College region and will play its game at 5:30 p.m. on Friday at the University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio. The Purple Raiders will host Neumann University following the Lakers and Knights battle.

Oswego earned an automatic bid to the tournament by capturing its second SUNYAC Championship in the last four years on Saturday with a 70-58 win over host and top-seeded Plattsburgh. Calvin also picked up an automatic berth by winning its conference title, beating Hope College 70-69 in overtime of the Michagan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championship finale.

This will be the first-ever matchup between the Knights and Lakers. Oswego will enter the contest on a three-game winning streak while Calvin has won eight-straight. Â
