Fredonia men's hoops sponsoring blood drive
FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia Blue Devil men's basketball team is again sponsoring a blood drive on campus, today and Thursday.
The blood drive will take place in the Williams Center in the Multi Purpose area from noon to 5 p.m. each day.Â
"We are volunteering for this is because of tradition and good cause," said current Blue Devil assistant coach and former player Adam LaQuier. "We have done this for a number of years. The blood that we get saves the local hospitals -- Brooks Hospital being the main benefactor -- thousands of dollars from purchasing blood from (other) blood banks."
LaQuier said players and coaches will be donating to the cause, which is once again being held in conjunction with the Community Blood Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania and Western New York.
