Conover to Coach, Williams to Play in 10-Day USAAI Overseas Tour
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Yet another international excursion is on the docket for members of the Plattsburgh State men's basketball program as former Cardinal Reggie Williams and associate head coach Cameron Conover will be embarking on a 10-day overseas trip as part of the USA Athletes International (USAAI). The pair will begin their journey on June 1 and will return to the United States on June 10.Â
This is the second time in as many years that a Plattsburgh State men's basketball presence will be displayed overseas as former Cardinal Anthony Baker went on a 10-day tour of Italy last summer in conjunction with USAAI.
Williams, an All-SUNYAC First Team and two-time All-Region selection during his senior year, will be playing in five games as a part of a roster of 10 other players from around the United States. Conover, who recently completed his 11th tour of duty on the Plattsburgh State bench, will serve as the head coach of the team.
Day one of the journey will see the pair land on London where they will connect with the rest of the team members. From there, the team will practice, tour London and then play its first of five games.
In total, Conover and Williams will be visiting four countries – the United Kingdom, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. As well as the scheduled games, the team will receive the opportunity to tour various cities and a former concentration camp during its 10-day stay abroad.
