ECAC honors four SUNYAC athletes
CORTLAND, N.Y. - Four State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) athletes honored by the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) for their performances the week ending November 2.
Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
David Rougeux – The College at Brockport, Jr., D, Oneida, N.Y.
In the 2-1 victory over Oswego which helped Brockport into the SUNYAC semifinals, Rougeux scored the game-winning goal in overtime. This was his first goal of the year.
Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Tyler Chauncey – SUNY Geneseo, Sr., B, Greece, N.Y.
The Knights' defense held Potsdam to only three shots on goal, Chauncey was a key part in the 2-0 victory as the shutout helped them advance to the SUNYAC semifinals.
Volleyball Player of the Week
Mary Kelly – SUNY Cortland, Sr., MH, Guilderland, N.Y.
Kelly had a hitting percentage of .474 over the 4-0 week for the Red Dragons. She added 40 kills and 14 blocks. In the victory ohver Houghton, the senior had 15 kills and five blocks. She also had a pair of ten-kill performances against both Utica and Alfred.Â
Volleyball Rookie of the Week
Jessie Allen – SUNY Cortland, Fr., MH, Syracuse, N.Y
The freshman middle hitter had 25 kills over 10 sets. Giving her a .412 hitting percentage for the week. She also totaled 20 blocks.
