Bierman and Brunache Take Home SUNYAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week Honors
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Oneonta's Jonthomas Bierman is this week's Men's Outdoor Track and Field Track Athlete of the Week, while Cortland's Isaiah Brunache earns his third straight Field Athlete of the Week honor.
Fifth-year Bierman competed at the historic Penn Relays on Thursday evening in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. He was the third Division III runner to finish in a field that featured 25 Division I athletes. Bierman ran a season-best time of 9:05.28. His time currently ranks 20th in NCAA Division III.
Brunache won both the shot put and the discus and finished eighth in the hammer throw at the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic. He was first of 42 in the shot put at 17.24 meters and first of 42 in the discus at 47.59 meters. He recorded a hammer throw of 50.27 meters. All three of his performances are AARTFC qualifiers.
