Cortland Takes 2025 SUNYAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship Crown
CORTLAND, N.Y. - Cortland won the 2025 SUNYAC men's outdoor track and field championship Saturday at Cortland's Stadium Complex. The team totaled 246.5 points over the two-day championship that ran Friday and Saturday. This is the Cortland Red Dragons 15th overall SUNYAC men's outdoor track and field championship title. PSU-Behrend finished second while Oneonta was third.
Awards
The SUNYAC Most Valuable Performer is awarded to the athlete with the most combined points at the SUNYAC two-day championship meet. Cortland's Isaiah Brunache earned this recognition for the second year in a row after totaling 23 points.
The Rookie of the Meet is the student-athlete of who scores the most team points across first-year competitors at the conference championship. Carter Tobin from PSU-Behrend earned this honor totaling 20.75 points.
The All-Conference first, second and third teams consist of the top three finishers in each event.
The SUNYAC Elite 20, an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers.
This year's winner is Plattsburgh's Faris Webber. He is a senior supply chain management and business administration major with a 4.0 overall GPA.
