Cortland women's lacrosse wins 2015 SUNYAC title
CORTLAND, N.Y. - Cortland (17-1) women's lacrosse defeated Fredonia (15-3), 15-6, Saturday in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championship game in Cortland.
This is the 18th overall and 17th straight SUNYAC title for the Red Dragons and first under first-year head Kelly Lickert-Orr. With the win, Cortland earned an automatic bid into the 2015 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Tournament.
Sophomore Kristen Ohberg led Cortland with four goals while Sophomore goalie Jaclyn Beshlian made five saves for the Red Dragons.Â
Kristie Kleine led the Fredonia offense with three goals on four shots and freshman goalie Nicole Burrows turned aside eight shots for the Blue Devils.
