FREDONIA, N.Y. -- It took two overtimes, but the SUNYAC's leading scorer, Bronwyn Madden, finally came through, scoring her 11th goal of the season as the Fredonia State women's soccer team defeated Oswego, 1-0, on Saturday at University Stadium.
Madden collected a pop up pass from Grazen. Madden, well outside the goalie box, used her left foot and put a long, line-drive shot past a diving Paytyn Crane to give the Devils a sudden-death win. Grazen was credited with the assist.
Casey Fetzner was solid in goal, with 10 saves for her second -- and the team's sixth -- shutout of the season. Crane had seven stops for the Lakers.
The No. 3 seed Devils will head to Plattsburgh on Wednesday for a semi-final matchup with the No. 2 Cardinals.
Oswego finishes its season at 6-6-5. The Devils now stand at 10-5-4.
