New Paltz Wins 2025-26 SUNYAC Women's Tennis Championship
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - No. 1 New Paltz defeated No. 3 Cortland, 4-0, to win its fourth straight and 11th overall SUNYAC women's tennis championship title, Saturday at the Lane-Starke Tennis Center. With the win, the Hawks earned an automatic berth into the NCAA Division III tournament.
New Paltz's Sam Ostrander was named the SUNYAC Women's Tennis Tournament MVP after going 3-0 in tournament play. Ostrander won her singles matches against Plattsburgh (6-0, 6-1) in the semifinals on Friday. She didn't finish her doubles match vs. the Cardinals, but was ahead 5-2. Ostrander won both her doubles match (6-1) and her singles match (6-1, 6-1) in the championship match win against Cortland.
