Pittman and McMasters Claim SUNYAC Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Honors
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Cortland's Autumn Pittman and Hannah McMasters have been selected as the SUNYAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week after turning in record-breaking performances at the Cortland Classic.
Pittman delivered one of the most historic sprinting performances in Cortland program history, breaking a 42-year-old school record for the fastest fully automatic time (FAT) in the 200-meter dash. Her time of 24.46 seconds earned her 2nd place out of 50 competitors and ranks 18th nationally in Division III. The senior also placed second of 45 in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.06 seconds after running a blazing 11.90 seconds in prelims.
McMasters broke her own school record in the hammer throw, placing third with a mark of 51.26 meters. Her distance currently ranks 23rd nationally in NCAA Division III and was the top Division III performance in the field. The junior also added a 10th-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 11.31 meters and took 16th in the discus at 30.20 meters.
