The Red Dragons won their 11th consecutive game to improve to 14-5 overall and improved their overall record against WNEU to 11-0, including a 4-0 mark in the NCAA playoffs. The Golden Bears had their season end at 15-4.

Sophomore Ryan Mahon (Bethpage) paced the Cortland offense with three goals and one assist, and sophomore Nate Beresovoy (LaFayette) also netted three goals. Junior close defenseman David Foster (Farmingville/Sachem East) scored two goals, senior Zach Hopps (Akwesasne/Massena) and sophomore Devin Phelps (Chittenango) each tallied one goal and two assists and seniors Cory Becker (Buffalo/Niagara-Wheatfield) and Ethan Printy (Irondequoit/East Irondequoit) and junior T.J. deLyra (Bay Shore) notched one goal apiece. Senior Conner Johnston (Homer), junior Mike Hart (Cornelius, NC/Hough) and freshman Joey Panariello (Islip) each chipped in with an assist.

Sophomore goalie Joe Scalise (Fairport) raised his season record to 13-5, making seven saves. Senior Pat Baldwin (Alpharetta, GA) won 12-of-21 faceoffs and collected 10 ground balls, while Scalise secured four ground balls.

The game remained scoreless until Becker's man-up goal with 1:32 left in the first quarter. DeLyra scored at 11:47, and Foster followed with his second goal of the season at 10:28. Beresovoy then netted back-to-back goals at 9:24 and 7:58 before Phelps scored at 5:27 and Printy capped the half with his goal 47 seconds before intermission.

The lead grew to 9-0  early in the third quarter as Hopps scored at 13:16 and Mahon tallied his first of the game at 9:59. The Golden Bears finally ended their drought at the 4:46 mark on Dillon's goal, and Dudeck scored at 2:30 to make it a 9-2 game, but Cortland closed the quarter with a pair of goals in the final minute. Foster connected for his second of the game at the 42-second mark and Mahon netted his second with four seconds on the clock for an 11-2 Red Dragons lead.

WNEU got back into the game by tallying the first three goals of the fourth quarter in less than five minutes to cut the Cortland lead to 11-5. Dubose scored at 13:41, and Bota followed with a man-up goal at 11:42 and an even-strength goal at 10:31. The Golden Bears' momentum stopped there as the Red Dragons scored the next goal at 3:58 off Mahon's stick and completed the scoring 10 seconds later on Beresovoy's goal for the 13-5 final
