Cortland and Brockport to face off in SUNYAC women's lacrosse championship
CORTLAND, N.Y. - After semifinal wins, Cortland and Brockport will play in the 2016 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's lacrosse championship game, Saturday at noon in Cortland.
In the first semifinal of the day Friday, top-seeded Cortland topped #4 Oswergo, 19-10. The Lakers ended their season 12-4. In the second semifinal, second-seeded Brockport defeated #3, 14-8. The Knights finish their season with a record of 12-6 overall.
The Red Dragons and Golden Eagles will play for the SUNYAC title and an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. Defending national champions, Cortland is looking to capture its 19th overall SUNYAC title. Brockport looks to win its first-ever SUNYAC crown.
