Monteith and Chiesa Tabbed SUNYAC Player and Goalie of the Week
WOMEN’S LACROSSE PLAYER- Oneonta
Rebecca Monteith (West Islip, NY/West Islip), senior attack
Senior Rebecca Monteith broke the all-time scoring record in a 1-1 week for Oneonta with her 14-goal performance last week, surpassing Susanne Murray Masi’s old record of 209 goals and 264 points set back in 1987. Monteith opened the week with eight goals and one assist in a 17-11 win at Potsdam and followed up with six goals in a 13-11 loss at Fredonia. The win for the Red Dragons against Potsdam was its eighth consecutive victory to start the season, which was the best start to a season in the history of the program. Monteith currently has 218 goals and 272 points.

Casey Chiesa (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker), junior
Casey Chiesa helped lead Fredonia State to a pair of wins last week and remain unbeaten in the SUNYAC. In a 15-14 double-overtime win against Geneseo on Tuesday, Chiesa made 12 saves to mark the first win by the Blue Devils over the Blue Knights in program history. In a 13-11 win against Oneonta on Saturday she turned aside five shots.
