Jamie Flood Earns NCAA Div. III Women's Lacrosse "Elite 89" Award
SUNY Cortland junior defender Jamie Flood (East Islip) has earned the Elite 89 award for the 2012 NCAA Division III women’s lacrosse season. The Elite 89 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA’s 89 championships across three divisions.
A kinesiology major with a 3.84 grade point average, Flood received her award on Thursday evening, May 17, at a banquet hosted by Div. III “final four” host Montclair State University.
Flood has played in all 21 games, six as a starter, for the Red Dragons. Cortland brings a 20-1 record into its national semifinal game versus Trinity College (Conn.) on Saturday, May 19, at 4 p.m. The other semifinalists are Salisbury University of Maryland and Middlebury College of Vermont.
