Chiesa lands ECAC women's lax award
FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State junior goalkeeper Casey Chiesa has been named ECAC Women's Lacrosse Goalkeeper of the Week.
Chiesa helped keep a school record intact for the Blue Devils, posting 24 saves over two games and a 2-0 record. The Blue Devils – setting a school record for consecutive wins with nine – were led by their netminder, who kept the squad undefeated in conference play by playing all 120:00 between the two games with a .533 save percentage.
Chiesa has started and played every minute of every Blue Devil game the past two seasons. Her 30 career wins over three seasons is one short of the school record of 31 held by Sarah Wright (2005-08).
