Three SUNYAC Cross Country Athletes Earn All-American Honors
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Monday the 70 student-athletes who earned All-America honors including three from the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC). This honor goes to the top 35 finishers in the 2013 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships men's and women's races.
SUNY Cortland junior Nick Marcantonio repeated as an All-American with a 23rd-place time of 25:10.8 over the 8K course. A total of 275 runners competed. Marcantonio also finished 23rd at last year's championship race. The Red Dragons men's cross country team finished 13th out of 32 teams.
SUNY Oneonta senior Danielle Kennedy finished the women's race 19th overall. Her finish is the highest ever for Oneonta (man or woman) at the NCAA championships and she becomes the first cross country runner in the program to earn All-American honors. Kennedy's team finished 25th overall.

The College at Brockport's junior Rachel Malone earned her second All-American honors after placing 20th at the NCAA Championships. Malone crossed the finish line at 21:49.4, earning the highest finish at the NCAA's in Brockport women's cross country history. Last season, Malone became the first-ever female to earn All-American honors in the program.
