Cortland junior outfielder Mark Stockhausen (Bronx/St. Raymond) has been named to the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week for the week ending April 6. The team consists of the top players for the week, by position, among all Division III schools. Stockhausen is one of four outfielders honored for the week.
Stockhausen batted .462 (6-for-13) with two homers, two doubles, five walks, 11 RBI and five runs in a 4-0 week for the Red Dragons. He finished the week with a 1.077 slugging percentage and .600 on-base percentage. Stockhausen drove in nine runs in a doubleheader sweep of Fredonia on Friday, going 3-for-3 with a homer and six RBI in a 10-0 win and 2-for-5 with two doubles, a walk, three RBI and two runs in a 10-2 victory. Earlier in the week, he went 1-for-2 with a homer, two walks and two RBI in a 12-0 win over Clarkson.
Stockhausen leads Cortland this spring with a .360 batting average (minimum 30 at-bats), including team highs of five homers and 18 RBI in 21 games, 12 as a starter. He's hit safely in six of Cortland's last seven games, going 12-for-21 during that stretch.
Cortland (14-10, 5-3 SUNYAC) will host SUNYAC leader Oneonta (15-6-1, 6-0) in a three-game series this weekend. The teams are now scheduled to play a single game Saturday at 1 p.m. and a doubleheader Sunday at noon.
