SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Oswego's Daniel Winchester is this week's Baseball Athlete of the Week, while Cortland's Nick Hanson takes home the Pitcher of the Week award.
Winchester was exceptional for the Lakers in five games this week. Over 24 at bats he tallied 14 hits with 2 doubles, 1 triple, 1 homerun, 2 walks 10 RBI and 10 runs. His batting average for the week was .583 with and OBP of .593 and SLG of .875. Winchester also stole 3 bases which ranks him third overall in the SUNYAC with 29.
Hanson earned his second save of the season after pitching the final three and two thirds innings in a 9-4 win over New Paltz - a crucial victory for the Red Dragons that helped lead to the team clinching the SUNYAC regular-season title later in the week.
