Davidson, Goergen and Cote Collect SUNYAC Women's Ice Hockey Weekly Awards
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC selects Allie Davidson from Morrisville as its Women's Ice Hockey Athlete of the Week, Molly Goergen from Cortland is the Goaltender of the Week and Bailey Cote from Canton is the Rookie of the Week.
Davidson had a two-point outing at #12 Nazareth University on Saturday, as Morrisville posted the 3-2 win over the Golden Flyers. Davidson assisted the Mustangs first goal, a power play score, before netting the game winner in the third to give Morrisville the win.
Goergen posted a perfect save percentage while making 28 saves in a 2-0 shutout victory for nationally 10th-ranked Cortland over nationally third-ranked Plattsburgh on Friday evening. After stopping all four shots in the opening period, the senior made 12 saves in both the second and third periods to maintain the Cortland shutout and prevent a comeback.
Cote scored her first career goal to trim the Roos deficit to 2-1 with 1:31 left in the game in a 2-1 loss at Buffalo State on Saturday. She finished the game with a +1 on-ice rating and won five of six faceoffs.
