Hull, Lenihan, Colbow Tabbed SUNYAC Women's Ice Hockey Athletes of the Week
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC selects Oswego's Mack Hull as its Women's Ice Hockey Athlete of the Week, Canton's Molly Lenihan the Goaltender of the Week and Morrisville's J'Anne Colbow is the Rookie of the Week.
The Lakers took on the Mustangs of Morrisville on Friday and Hull led Oswego to their second conference win of the season. She scored three goals and assisted on one other with a +2 for the game. On Saturday, she had two shots and was +2 in a 2-2 tie against Plattsburgh. After this weekend, Hull is tied for first in the conference in points and is first overall in goals.
Lenihan stopped 41 of the 42 shots she faced (.976 save %) in a 2-1 win against top five nationally-ranked Cortland on Friday in her lone game of the week. She stopped at least 12 shots in every period including a remarkable 16 in the third period to preserve a 2-1 win against the Red Dragons. It's the second ranked win for the Roos this season and the second time Lenihan has earned a win against Cortland in the last two seasons.
Colbow picked up her first SUNYAC win in net on Saturday, an overtime thriller over Canton, 2-1. The freshman posted 31 stops for a .969 save performance, recording a .98 goals against average.
