Buffalo State Women's Lacrosse to Host â??Friends of Jaclynâ?? and â??Team Mollyâ?? Game vs. Potsdam
Buffalo State's women's lacrosse program is hosting a special event as part of its regular-season finale this Saturday, April 26 against Potsdam, holding a Friends of Jaclyn Foundation and Team Molly event in conjunction with the game.
The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation's mission is to improve the quality of life for children and their families who are battling pediatric brain tumors and to raise awareness about this disease. FOJ pairs up children and their families battling pediatric brain tumors with college and high school sports teams. The teams give these children love, support and friendship as they fight this devastating disease. We celebrate each day by creating lasting relationships between student athletes, the child, and their families. This greatly improves the quality of life for children with brain tumors, as well as those who support them.

Buffalo State's women's lacrosse team will also dedicate the game to Bengal alum Molly Seifritz who passed away on March 2, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer.
A native of Syracuse and graduate of Henninger High School, Molly enrolled at Buffalo State in the fall of 2006. During her five-year career that was extended by a season-ending injury in 2009, she played in 65 career games and ranks sixth in school history with 156 career points, including 112 goals, and was a two-time All-SUNYAC honoree. She also excelled off the field, completing her bachelor's degree in hospitality and tourism in 2010 with a 3.42 cumulative grade point average. Molly returned to school to take additional classes the following year to complete her final season of eligibility. A Buffalo State Scholar-Athlete, she qualified for the Dean's List five times and was on the SUNYAC All-Academic Team and Commissioner's List.
Team Molly is an initiative started by Buffalo State in conjunction with several former players and teammates of Molly's. Last year Team Molly began with four schools participate by wearing Team Molly t-shirts prior to competition in remembrance of Molly. This year all of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's lacrosse teams as well as over 20 other schools along the east coast will be participating in the cause to remember Molly.
Buffalo State and Potsdam will square off at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Coyer Field.
