ECAC recognizes Scott Orr and Samuel Taft
The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) honors two State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Athletes of the Week ending April 12, 2015.
Division III Upstate Baseball Co-Pitcher of the Week
Scott Orr – Plattsburgh State, Junior, Baldwinsville, N.Y.
Orr tossed a nine-inning shutout in a 2-0 Plattsburgh State win at The College at Brockport on Saturday afternoon. The junior gave up just five hits, fanned six batters and didn't allow a Brockport batter to reach beyond first base in the win. In his latest triumph, which brings his record to 4-1, the junior lowered his ERA to 2.14, which ranks third in the SUNYAC.
Division III Upstate Men's Outdoor Track and Field Co-Athlete of the Week
Samuel Taft – The College at Brockport, Sr., Schenectady, N.Y.
Taft dominated the group of other athletes competing at the Bill Butler Invite held at West Chester University over the weekend. He won five of the 10 events for the decathlon on his way to finishing on top with a score of 6287 points, well above all other competitors.
