SUNYAC men's track and field 2015 award winners
CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) is honored to recognize this seasons Outstanding Male Track Athlete of the Year, Male Field Athlete of the Year, and Men's Track and Field Coach of the Year awards.
The Track Athlete of the Year award goes to Brockport's Dorian Hayden (East Northport, NY/Northport). The Field Athlete of the Year award goes to Oneonta's J.D. Roth (Pearl River, NY/Nauet), and the Coach of the Year award honors went to Oneonta's head coach, Angelo Posillico.
Hayden took the 400 meter dash at the SUNYAC Championships with a time of 49.64 seconds, earning All-Conference first team selection. The East Northport, NY native also helped the Brockport men take the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:22.43.
Oneonta's J.D. Roth took the shot put event at the SUNYAC Championships over the weekend at Brockport, helping the Oneonta men to the championship victory and earning a spot on the All-Conference first team.
Posillico led the Oneonta men to its second indoor SUNYAC championship in program history. The Red Dragons tallied 152 points throughout the weekend, winning in impressive fashion. Oneonta ended up winning four individual events and one relay. Posillico, an Oneonta graduate, is in his second year at the helm if the track & field program.
