Five SUNYAC Athletes of the Week recognized by ECAC
The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) honored Five State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 8th, 2015
ECAC Division III Upstate Men's Swimmer of the Week
Mark Hanifin – SUNY Cortland, Senior, Fort Plain, N.Y.
Hanifin won both the 200 freestyle (1:46.10) and the 500 freestyle (4:58.33) in a dual meet against Fredonia. The senior also swam the anchor leg on the Red Dragons' winning 200 medley relay team.
ECAC Division III Upstate Men's Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Week
Sam Randall – SUNY Geneseo, Freshman, Pittsford, N.Y.
Randall set a new school record in the 100 backstroke for the short course event as he clocked a final time of 1:02.54 on Saturday at the Geneseo Invitational. Randall also won the 200 IM short course after touching the wall in 2:21.79.
ECAC Division III Women's Indoor Track and Field Rookie of the Week:
Marisa Gosdeck – SUNY Brockport, Freshman, Alden, N.Y.
Gosdeck led the College at Brockport Women's Indoor Track and Field team to a first place finish during Brockport's Mid-Season Classic. The freshman completed the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.68 seconds.
ECAC Division III Upstate Swimmer of the Week
Abigail Max – SUNY Geneseo, Senior, New Hartford, N.Y.
Max won three events to lead the Knights to a first place finish at the Geneseo Invitational. The senior was victorious in the 200 butterfly (2:10.96) and the 200 IM (2:15.17), while also swimming a leg on the 200-medley relay team that finished with a winning time of 1:51.26.
ECAC Division III Upstate Diver of the Week
Lydia Allen – SUNY Brockport, Freshman, Cortland, N.Y.
Allen recorded a personal-best on the one-meter board at the Geneseo Invitational. The freshman diver scored a 431.85 to earn a first place finish.
