Geneseo Leads Commissioner's Cup Standings After Winter Season
SUNY Geneseo has moved up to the top spot in the Dr. Patrick R. Damore Commissioner's Cup standings at the completion of the 2013-14 winter conference championships while Cortland and Oneonta finished second and third respectively.
SUNY Geneseo jumped from the third spot to the top of the standings with an average of 8.01 points after capturing the men's and women's swimming and diving SUNYAC titles. The Knights also earned the top seed in men's ice hockey after posting a 14-2 regular season record and went on to a second place finish in the conference tournament.
SUNY Cortland dropped to second after holding the first spot in the fall. The Red Dragons gathered an average of 7.55 points after winning their third consecutive women's indoor track and field title while the men finished third. Adding to the points was the women's swimming and diving team with a second place finish in the conference championship. The men's and women's basketball teams both finished the regular season at No. 5 to advance to the SUNYAC Tournament.
