Nine SUNYAC spring teams ranked in nation with less than two weeks of regular season remaining
As the spring regular season is coming to an end in the upcoming weeks the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) is proud to acknowledge the schools that are in their respective sport's national rankings.Â
Women's lacrosse has the most SUNYAC schools that cracked the top 20 ranking in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) poll. SUNY Cortland remains at number two in the nation, but is only ten points behind the No. 1 team Salisbury University. SUNY Geneseo comes in at No. 10 in the rankings, followed by The College at Brockport at No. 18. Fredonia State moved into the top 20 rankings this week and sit at the 20th spot.
The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) came out with its week 9 top 20 rankings for men's lacrosse as SUNY Cortland was the only SUNYAC School to make the list at No. 7 in the nation with less than two weeks left to go in regular season play.
For Baseball D3baseball.com just released its week 8 top 25 and once again it is SUNY Cortland who makes the list ranked at No. 7.
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) also just finished up their week 3 top 25 rankings for men's and women's Outdoor Track and Field. On the men's side it is SUNY Cortland who comes in at No. 17 in the rankings, followed by Buffalo State at No. 24. On the women's side Buffalo State is the solo SUNYAC school on the list at No. 12.
It will be an interesting final two weeks of the regular season for all sports to see if these SUNYAC schools can stay ranked before the regular season ends. Will any teams continue to roll and move up the rankings? These last few weeks will be enjoyable to keep track of all the SUNYAC schools.
