School Records, Personal Bests and ECAC Qualifying Marks Pace Track and Field
Last week saw ECAC qualifying marks being reached across the conference, personal bests achieved and even a school record set.
MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE – Oneonta
Sean Bernstein (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker), junior
Sean Bernstein won both events he competed in this past Saturday at Hamilton College. He ran a personal best time of 6.97 in winning the 60-meter dash. His time is currently the fastest time in the SUNYAC this season and the 7th fastest time in Div. III. His second win of the day came in the 200-meters with a time of 22.51.
WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE – Plattsburgh
Amy McCasland (Saranac, NY/Saranac), senior
Amy McCasland won the 1,000-meter dash at the St. Lawrence Invitational with an ECAC-qualifying time of 3:03.56. McCasland, who was competing in the event for the first time, finished just 2.32 seconds short of the meet record. She was also part of the Cardinals' 4x400 meter relay team that took second in 4:28.01.

MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE - Brockport
Dustin Colgan (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy), senior
Dustin Colgan won two throwing events for The College at Brockport Saturday at the St. Lawrence University Invitational Tournament in Canton as the men placed second as a team with 126.33 points finishing behind the host Saints. Colgan won both the shot put and the weight throw as he posted an ECAC qualifying winning throw of 15.54 meters (51' 0”) in the weight throw an ECAC qualifying mark of 14.96 meters in the shot put.
WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE- Oswego
Brittany Dalcais (Hewitt, NJ/West Milford), freshman
Oswego State freshman Brittany Dalcais opened the season and her collegiate career at the St. Lawrence Invitational by shattering the school record in the pole vault with a mark of 10 feet, 6 inches, bettering the former record of 9 feet, 6 ¼ inches. Dalcais finished third in the pole vault with the ECAC-qualifying height and was also part of the Laker quartet that won the 4x400 meter relay by over six seconds with a time of 4:21.76.
