Ferrara Breaks SUNYAC Pole Vault Record
Junior Zach Ferrara (Rochester, NY/Irondequoit) continued his dominance in the pole vault event throughout the early indoor track and field season for The College at Brockport, once again breaking his own school record in the event at the Hamilton College Invitational.
Ferrara, who broke his own school record last weekend at the Lake Erie College Open with a height of 15 ft. 11 inches, shattered the record with a mark of 16 ft. 3 ¼ inches at Hamilton. Ferrara came in first place, beating his second place opponent by nearly three feet. Ferrara's mark is good enough for third in the nation currently at 4.96-meters.
The previous SUNYAC record of 4.95 was held by Ryan Pericozzi of Cortland who cleared the height in 2010 and again in December of 2011.
