Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week Announced
MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE – Oneonta
Sean Bernstein (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker), junior
Sean Bernstein won both the 100 and 200-meter dashes in leading the Oneonta men to the team championship at the Point Loma Nazarene Invitational in San Diego, CA. He ran a personal best 10.60 in the 100 and set a school record in the 200 of 21.16. Bernstein also ran the second leg of the 4x100-meter relay that set a new school record time of 42.67 that was originally set back during the 2004 season. Both of Bernstein’s times rank second in Division III.

WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE – Geneseo
Cailin Kowalewski (Fredonia, NY/Fredonia), junior
Junior Cailin Kowalewski won the 800 meters at the Washington & Jefferson Open with a meet record time of 2:15.58, which currently stands seventh in the NCAA Division III rankings. Kowalewski led a 1-2-3 Geneseo finish in the event as she broke the old record of 2:17.15 set in 2010.

MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE – Brockport
Dustin Colgan (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy), senior
Senior Dustin Colgan came home with two first-place finishes as he led The College at Brockport Men's Outdoor Track & Field squad at the season-opening Continental Invitational Saturday afternoon at Hamilton College. Colgan won both the hammer throw and the discus with a throw of 51.26 meters (168' 2”) in the hammer and a winning toss of 44.21 meters (145' 0”) in the discus for the Golden Eagles. He also came in third place in the shot put with a distance of 13.62m.

Sarah Timmons began the outdoor season with a first place finish in the discus and a second place finish in the hammer, breaking her own school records in both events at the Point Loma Nazarene Invitational. Her distance of 44.78m (146’-11”) won the discus by nearly four meters while her throw of 46.26m (151’-9”) was nearly three meters farther than her previous hammer throw record mark. Timmons currently has the third longest throw in Div. III in the discus.
