Cortland and Oneonta Split Track and Field Honors
SUNY Cortland and Oneonta State each had two of the four indoor track and field athletes of the week for the week ending Dec. 11.
MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE - Oneonta
Sean Bernstein (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker), junior
Junior Sean Bernstein ran 6.99 to win the 60-meter dash while also winning the 200-meter dash in a meet record time of 22.48. His time in the 60 was faster that he ran last week and is currently the second fastest time in Div. III. The Red Dragons placed third overall at the St. Lawrence Holiday Relays with 77 points.

WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE – Cortland
Alyson Dalton (Sherrill, NY/V-V-S), senior
Alyson Dalton finished first in the 5,000-meter run with a meet record and ECAC-qualifying time of 17:21.70 at the St. Lawrence Holiday Relays. Her time currently ranks second on the NCAA Div. III qualifier list. Cortland finished first out of six schools at the meet.

Ryan Pericozzi, (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster), senior
Ryan Pericozzi tied his own SUNYAC and school indoor records with his winning pole vault of 4.95 meters at the St. Lawrence Holiday Relays to earn his second consecutive SUNYAC Field Athlete of the Week honor. The height was also a meet record and is the top mark currently in Division III. Cortland finished second out of six teams at the meet.

Kacy Boburka (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley), junior
Kacy Boburka and the Oneonta Red Dragons finished third with 72 points at the St. Lawrence Holiday Relays. Boburka scored in three events including a first place finish in the high jump (1.63m). She was also second in both the long jump (4.98m) and triple jump (10.82m).
